Summer Camp 2025

In 2025, Troop 511 will be going to Rodney Scout Reservation during the week of July 13-19.

Join us for adventure at Rodney, the only Scout camp on the Chesapeake Bay.  Rodney is located on over 900 acres of rolling upland woodlands at the head of the Chesapeake Bay and boasts over a mile of prime bay frontage.  It has been in continuous operation since 1923.  Rodney is located in Cecil County Maryland, only a short drive from I-95 and MD RT-40 in the town of North East.

For those families that are new to scouting, summer camp is week long activity that allows scouts to earn merit badges, work on advancements, and have a great time.  The time spent at summer camp will always be remembered, even as adults.  I encourage all scouts to attend camp.

The camp is fully staffed with well trained adult as well as scout counselors, who conduct the week long activities.  In addition to the camp staff, I, as well as a number of other adult troop members attend camp.

Payment Schedule and Fees:

Camp fees – $585

Money to offset the cost of summer camp can be earned by using the SCRIP program or by selling Troop flowers in May.

If any family has difficulty with the amount or the timing of payments  please let me or Deb Mandel our Treasurer know and we will make arrangements.  All Scouts who want to go to camp, will go to camp.

ALL Scouts and ALL leaders will need BSA health forms.  Please do not wait to July to get yours signed by the doctor.
